We are dog and horse people. My husband and I took over Hilltop Farm USA 18 years ago, in 2008. We raised our 3 kids here. The 1900s cottage home was where we lived first.

In the 1950s Grandpa moved the family here to build a horse business. Buggy racing was in his blood. He saw the need to rehabilitate injured race horses. The 2nd swimming pool for horses was in Dundee, Illinois. Grandma’s sister & Mother moved nearby and built their house on the hilltop too. Today, Schweitzer Woods is a free dog park with off leash trails and 5 acres of fenced space to run with the pack. Irish Setter breeder Emily Schweitzer is well-known for excellence in her prized dogs. Our entire family loves furry friends.
